CASE STUDY
Boardwalk was asked to help Tony Hawk, Inc., the licensing and merchandising arm of a world-famous skateboarding champion, to develop a brand positioning that would attract suitable corporate sponsors. Our research indicated that, to be successful, the brand had to establish itself as a reliable and trustworthy business partner for blue chip sponsors and licensees while, at the same time, remain relatable to Tony’s fans by maintaining his authenticity – his "cred". We delivered a brand strategy and visual identity that did the trick. We also established basic rules for the use of the identity and distributed artwork and guidelines to all licensees.
